Introduction to Sodium Benzoate, Natamycin, And Streptococcus Lactis

Sodium Benzoate

Sodium benzoate is the sodium salt of benzoic acid and is widely used as a food preservative and as a pickling agent. It is a white crystalline substance with a molecular formula of C₆H₅COONa and can be prepared by reacting sodium hydroxide with benzoic acid.

The use of Sodium Benzoate:

  • Mainly used as food preservatives and also used in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals, dyes, etc.

  • Used in the pharmaceutical industry and plant genetic research, also used as a dye intermediate, a bactericide, and a preservative.

  • Preservatives; bactericides.

  • Sodium benzoate is also an important acidic food preservative. When used, it is converted into the effective form of benzoic acid. For its scope of use and dosage, please refer to benzoic acid. In addition, it can also be used as a preservative for feed.

  • Used as a food additive (preservative), a sterilizer in the pharmaceutical industry, a mediating dye in the dye industry, a plasticizer in the plastic industry, and an intermediate in organic synthesis such as flavoring.

  • Used as a solubilizer in the serum bilirubin test, a food additive (preservative), a sterilizer in medicine.

  • Used as a mediating dye in industry and dye industry, a plasticizer in the plastic industry, and also used as an intermediate in organic synthesis, such as in tobacco bodies.

Natamycin

Natamycin is an antifungal drug used for the treatment of eye and other infections. This includes fungal diseases of the eye, skin, nails, and scalp as well as yeast infections of the vagina. Natamycin can be used as eye drops or as a cream for treating skin infections.

The advantages of Natamycin

Natamycin, as a microbial preservative, is highly regarded for its safety, naturalness, and healthiness. Natamycin has many advantages:

  • It can extend the shelf life of food and prevent decay caused by yeast and mold.

  • It can reduce food recalls caused by spoilage and reduce production costs.

  • It meets the demand for natural food of consumers.

  • It does not change the taste of food.

  • It has low dosage and high efficiency for its antibacterial effects.

  • Its antibacterial effects are long-lasting.

Streptococcus Lactis

Streptococcus Lactis has been widely used in the production of cheese and dairy products. It is also the first genetically modified organism (GMO) used as a treatment for human diseases while still alive.

The advantages of Streptococcus Lactis:

  • Balance intestinal flora;

  • Help fight intestinal diseases, such as irritable bowel syndrome and IBD;

  • Provide protection against pathogens;

  • Assist in preventing urinary tract infections;

  • Help establish a superior immune system;

  • Anti-allergic;

  • Help absorb nutrients;

  • Inhibit the occurrence of eczema;

  • Reduce the side effects of antibiotics;

  • Help lactose intolerant people digest dairy products;

  • Reduce the duration of diarrhea;

  • Synthesize vitamins and enzymes.
