Oxalic acid is a chemical compound with the formula HO2C−COOH. It is a colorless crystalline solid that dissolves in water to give the aquated form, which consists of oxalate ions, HO2C−COO−. This colourless solution, also called “solution of hydrogen oxalate” or “solution of oxalic acid” is found in many plants.
